Do you love the boho style and want to try out macrame weaving? Then we have the perfect instructions for you here: A macrame lantern that not only creates a beautiful light, but also looks extremely chic!

Macrame is a knotting technique in which beautiful ornaments are created using various knots. This technique can be used wonderfully to create wall hangings, hanging baskets or even lanterns. Macrame fits perfectly into the so-called boho style – an unconventional furnishing style that boasts earthy tones, natural materials and patterns and turns the apartment into a cozy retreat.

You don’t need much to create an extraordinary lantern: all you need is a larger glass (e.g. disposable glass), cotton yarn and a little patience. And of course a tea light to use the finished piece straight away! You can then use three simple knots to create a macrame that is guaranteed to be an eye-catcher. You can read exactly how doing it yourself works here.

Step 4

Once you have knotted the outermost working thread on the left around the guide, go back to the middle. Use the thread sticking out of your first rib knot as a new guide, now pointing to the right. Tie the right working threads around the guide.

Step 5

Place the guides on the left and right so that they face each other. Tie with the rib knot working thread by working thread, from outside to inside, back towards the center.
