Macron calls for an end to hostilities on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan

PARIS, September 13 (Reuters) – Emmanuel Macron spoke with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliev, whom he called on to call for an end to hostilities and respect the ceasefire after the renewed border tensions between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the French Presidency announced on Tuesday.

“(The French president) said it was urgent to put an end to the hostilities, and to return to the respect of the ceasefire”, was it indicated in a press release.

The Head of State also insisted on the need to continue and intensify the negotiation efforts between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
