Macron unveils his strategy on Thursday to accelerate industrialization

Emmanuel Macron will unveil his strategy on Thursday to “accelerate” the “reindustrialization” of France, which will then be illustrated with a trip to Dunkirk on Friday, the “Choose France” summit on Monday in Versailles and the presentation on Tuesday of the “green industry” bill. “.

To start this long sequence which is part of the Head of State’s efforts to relaunch his five-year term after the pension crisis, he is meeting players in French industry on Thursday afternoon at the Elyse.

According to his advisers, he will take stock of the policy which has been carried out for six years and which, in their opinion, is bearing fruit.

The presidency highlights the 300 net creations of factories in France between 2017 and 2022, compared with the 600 net destructions between 2008 and 2016.

This industrial reconquest must continue and accelerate to prepare the France of tomorrow, respond to the climate challenge, preserve the social model and achieve full employment, says the Elyse.

The executive intends to show that it is putting the means in the face of the colossal plan to support the energy transition of the United States, Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), but also in the face of the acceleration of China on these same subjects.

In his speech on Thursday, Emmanuel Macron is to announce measures to implement this acceleration, with public funding as the key. In particular, he will reveal the main lines of the green industry law which will be presented to the Council of Ministers on Tuesday.

Asked about a reform of the ecological bonus paid to buyers of electric vehicles to favor models produced in France, the Elyse told journalists that this would be one of the subjects that will be presented by Emmanuel Macron.

Friday, the head of state must go to Dunkirk, in the North, where the Taiwanese group ProLogium wants to set up a fourth factory of batteries for electric vehicles in France, for entry into production from the end of 2026.

He should confirm this investment on the spot, which has already largely filtered through the media, and which is part of the announcements expected on Monday at the sixth edition of the Choose France summit organized at the Château de Versailles. This annual meeting launched by Emmanuel Macron in 2018 aims to attract foreign investment to the country.

This year, more than 200 heads of foreign companies have confirmed their presence, a record according to the Elyse, including more than 50% who will participate for the first time.

The presidency is also expecting a record in terms of the amounts of investments announced: they amounted to 10.8 billion euros last year over two editions.
