“What a day! What a wonderful day!” Warner Bros. unveiled this Friday the trailer for Furiosathe prequel film Mad Max: Fury Road. First apocalyptic and mind-blowing images, with Anya Taylor-Joy like you’ve never seen her before.
The odyssey of Furiosa
It is undoubtedly one of the cinema events of the year 2024. Furiosa will tell the story of the character’s youth, before she became Imperator for Immortan Joe. Played by Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Roadshe is played here by Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queen’s Game, The Witch, Super Mario).
Kidnapped by a horde of bikers led by the warlord Dementus, the young woman will have to survive in the Wasteland and find a way to return home.

Co-written and directed by the legendary George Miller (all films Mad Max, Happy Feet, Babe), Furiosa also includes Chris Hemsworth (Thor) to his casting, in the role of the implacable Dementus.
It is the fifth film in the series Mad Maxwhich narrates the adventures of Max Rockatansky in the heart of a world in chaos, torn apart by the lack of water and fuel.
After the first film in 1979, the saga had several sequels: Mad Max 2: the challenge (1981) and Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome (1985), again with Mel Gibson in the title role.
The franchise underwent a reboot in 2015 with the cult film Mad Max: Fury Road, and the Tom Hardy / Charlize Theron duo. Beyond a solid success at the box office (370 million dollars collected for a budget of 150 million), this opus established itself as one of the most visionary productions of recent years, and relaunched the saga.
With a comfortable budget of 168 million dollars, Furiosa was filmed from May to October 2022 in Australia. The film is scheduled in French cinemas for May 22, 2024. A preview presentation at the next Cannes Film Festival is highly probable.
