Warner Music has secured the entire oeuvre of Madonna. Can your fans look forward to numerous new mega hits as a result?

On August 16, on her 63rd birthday, Warner Music unveiled a “career-spanning partnership” with Madonna that spans the superstar’s entire musical oeuvre. These are the rights to 17 studio albums as well as all singles, soundtracks, live albums and best-of records, reports the US site “Variety”. But what does the mega-deal mean for the superstar’s worldwide fans?

According to the report, no new music is included in the partnership. Instead, the plan is to release remastered deluxe editions of their most successful albums over the next few years, starting in 2022. These should be personally selected and supervised by Madonna, it says. In October 2022 it will be exactly 40 years since Madonna’s debut single “Everybody” was released – back then by Warner.

A good deal for Madonna

It is obvious that this deal will bring millions more to the singer’s account. Although “Variety” does not give any figures on this, a report from last year suggests which price segment one could be in. In 2011, Madonna signed a ten-year exclusive contract for three albums with Interscope Records. At the time, the music label is said to have paid 120 million US dollars for as also reported by “Variety”.
