Since January 31, the relatives of Maëlys de Araujo have been living a real hell. They face Nordahl Lelandais who is tried at the Assize Court of Grenoble for the kidnapping and murder of Maëlys de Araujo. In front of them, he makes more shocking revelations than the others and these have greatly affected Joachim, the father of Maëlys. Subsequently, a 3D scanner reconstruction of the skull of Maëlys was viewed. “What can be seen on the photo of the skull from the front, you have a broken nose bone, a piece of bone missing. For his part, Nordahl Lelandais had affirmed that he had “no bad intention” before revealing that “kicked” at Maelys. What about possible sexual assault? “You would like me to say it’s a sex crime, but not at all. JI was not at all in this sexual perspective, far from it”, he concluded.

Nordahl Lelandais: what penalty does he incur?

The judges will deliver their verdict this Friday, February 18. This is eagerly awaited by the relatives of Maëlys de Araujo who can do justice to the little girl, four years after the facts. For the murder of Arthur Noyer, Nordahl Lelandais had been sentenced to twenty years’ imprisonment. For that of Maëlys, the 38-year-old former military dog ​​handler incurs life imprisonment with a security period of 22 years.
