Magalie Vaé was only 18 when she won Star Academy. Winner of the fifth season of TF1 TV hook, the singer left Dammarie-les-Lys with a real fortune in her pocket: one million euros. But unfortunately, she squandered this enormous sum, as she confided on the set of TPMP People this Saturday, February 12. The reason ? “I didn’t handle the money the way I should have. But I was 18, I was badly surrounded, I made bad choices…”, she analyzes. And to explain that she suffered from his extreme kindness: “I had a group of friends, whom I thought were my friends, I wanted to please them. I paid them evenings, we took the taxi, I could pay them vacations”.
“The day when there is nothing left, well there is no one left”, added the singer, still touched to have been used by some of her relatives at the time. On the set of It starts todayi a few months ago, Magalie Vaé explained that she had received half of this sum, after having paid taxes, and “after the recording of the first album, once the first single was released”. If she has “lived good times”the singer knows, the victory at Star Academy and this gain, above all, were “a poisoned gift to age” that she had. “If there had been psychological and financial follow-up, it could have been better managed”she explained, revealing that she wanted to immediately “enjoy it” his family : “I told them: ‘You choose the trip you want to do for 15 days and you go where you want’.”

Between her personal expenses and the gifts she gave to her friends, Magalie Vaé took four years to squander her earnings. “I blame myself because I could have benefited my family more (…) it allowed me to know the value of money that I had never known before and it made me allowed to instill it in my daughter”, added the mother of Elia, born in 2011. Separated from the father of her child, the singer is again in a relationship, as she confided to Jordan de Luxe. “We are separated, but he is present, it is going well (…) Today, he is very happy on his side and I am very happy for him, she assured, last October. I suffered at the time of this unpacking in public, when I had my boyfriend at the time of Star Ac (…) I do not want to relive that, I want to protect us.
