This Thursday (June 24th, 8:15 pm on ProSieben and Joyn) “Die Alm – Promischweiß & Edelweiß” starts its third season. The former professional gymnast Magdalena Brzeska (43) was only too happy to get involved in the hut adventure: “My main job is the head trainer of rhythmic gymnastics at TSG Söflingen and every weekend on the way to competitions or championships. However, I decided not to watch it again, now before I took part.”
The mountain world was not entirely unknown to Brzeska. “I’ve already crossed the Alps on foot. Sun and sea are my holiday feeling. However, I could imagine taking a short break on an alpine pasture.” And what did the sportswoman have the most respect for before moving into the hut? “In front of the other candidates, the meeting of the different characters and the feeling of being watched 24 hours a day and accompanied by a camera.”
Sports discipline helped the ex-professional gymnast
Brzeska finally moved to the alpine pasture with great motivation. “What kind of athlete would I be if you don’t want to win? At this show, I think that competitive thinking is wrong. You’re more likely to get ahead if you’re a good team player.” She missed regular exercise, even if “a life on the mountain pastures is exhausting enough.” The discipline and stamina that you need as an athlete, on the other hand, would definitely have helped her with the tough life at 1,680 meters above sea level.
It was difficult for her in the first few hours to be with strangers like that. “I observed a lot, but that quickly subsided.” In the case of flat share conflicts between the residents of the alpine pastures, she tried “not to interfere in principle and I didn’t notice a lot of things because I was busy with other things.
