Fire alarm in Lienz: A serious traffic accident occurred in East Tyrol on Sunday.
A 20-year-old East Tyrolean woman was driving her car on the Drautalstrasse from Lienz towards Abfaltersbach. Suddenly the driver crashed her vehicle into a guardrail, tipped over onto the driver’s side and continued to slide for about 25 meters until the car finally came to a stop lying on the roof. Fire broke out Shortly afterwards a fire broke out in the engine compartment. The driver and her passenger (20) were still in the car. Passers-by rushed to help. The two were able to free themselves from the car. The East Tyroleans remained unhurt. The car was totaled. The road was closed briefly due to the clean-up work.
