Not only is a stress ball a great way to relieve stress, it can also be used for playing, juggling, and developing motor skills. You can find out here how you can easily make a stress ball for yourself and your children!

in Stressball is a little helper when tension or stress gets out of hand. The stress ball is particularly popular with children: it can relieve nervousness in the hand or can also be used for juggling. It can also serve as a rage ball if necessary …! With smaller children, the stress ball is also a good means of promoting motor skills, as it can be kneaded into any shape. In addition, it can be made yourself with few resources and in no time – you probably already have the materials at home!

Make a stress ball yourself: materials and instructions

You need:

  • balloon
  • Flour (alternative: toothpaste)
  • funnel
  • wide wooden stick (e.g. ice cream stick) or the end of a spoon
  • Use a waterproof pen for decoration if necessary

That's how it's done:

  1. Inflate the balloon so that it expands a bit first. Then let the air out again.
  2. Pull the opening of the balloon over a funnel. Pour flour into the funnel and use a wooden stick or the prepared end of a spoon to press it into the balloon until it is well filled. To get even more flour in, you can pull the balloon apart a little with your hand if necessary.
  3. Now close the balloon opening with a knot, if possible so that no air is trapped.

Tip: The stress ball can easily take a face: Simply paint the balloon with a waterproof pen.

Note: You can also fill the balloon with toothpaste, in which case the ball will be a little more malleable and softer. You can get interesting effects, for example, when you put the ball in a vegetable net and squeeze it – the kids will be thrilled!

Make a two-tone stress ball yourself

For this you need balloons in two different colors:

  1. Make a stress ball as described above.
  2. At the end, don't knot the balloon, but cut the opening 2 cm above the endosperm, fold the opening and fix it with an adhesive strip.
  3. Then you take a different colored balloon and cut off the entire mouth opening.
  4. You put this second balloon over the stress ball so that the opening is covered with the adhesive tape. This ball is now much stronger and is also great for practicing juggling.
