After the painful end of the European Championship, national goalkeeper Manuel Neuer lets his soul dangle on a hiking holiday in South Tyrol.

After the end of the European Championship, national goalkeeper Manuel Neuer (35) is taking a break. The 35-year-old ended up in the mountains. To be precise, in the “beautiful” South Tyrol, where Neuer is on a hiking holiday. He takes his followers with him on Instagram.

In one story, Neuer says: “The rucksack is packed. The next challenge is off.” For him and a friend it is “a very short time” on a 3,000 meter high mountain, according to the FC Bayern star. Later, Neuer posted some pictures of the summit, with a fantastic view.

New day, new activity

The very next day, Neuer devoted himself to the next sporting activity. It was an hour’s bike ride up a mountain in the municipality of Castelbello. The way back was then tackled again on foot. At the end there was still a little cooling in a ten degree cold mountain lake on the program: “Let’s see who can stay longer in the water at plus ten degrees”, says Neuer.
