Marc-Olivier Fogiel in the race for the leadership of France Inter

After the auditions of three candidates, he is the fourth personality of the short-list.

The process is accelerating for the succession of Laurence Bloch to the management of France Inter, the first radio station in France in terms of audience. After the hearings, in mid-December, of the candidates Nicolas Demorand, current presenter of the morning of France Inter, of Justine Planchon, current general manager of Mediawan Prod and of Vincent Meslet, current general manager of Newen, production subsidiary of the TF1 group , a fourth name has been added to the list. This is Marc-Olivier Fogiel, CEO of BFMTV since 2019. He did not apply for the position and did not participate in the process. But he would have been contacted directly by Radio France and would have met the CEO of the public broadcasting group Sibyle Veil, just before Christmas.

Radio and TV

Radio man, Marc-Olivier Fogiel began his career at RTL, then he spent five seasons on France Inter between 2000 and 2005 in the program “Vous listen to TV” before returning to RTL. He then presented the morning show of Europe 1 from 2008 to 2011, again before returning to RTL.

He is also a television man who passed through the encrypted channel Canal +, that of the public service France 3, then by M6 and finally to the direction of the news channel BFMTV. He kept it at the top of news channels with an audience of 2.9%.

Passionate about news and entertainment, having alternated public service and private audiovisual and finally, having experience in team management, he has a good profile to manage the public service station.

Contacted, Marc-Olivier Fogiel refuses to comment and estimates that he devotes himself 200% to his task as boss of BFMTV, a position he has held for two and a half years.
