Margot Robbie will be the headliner of a new feature film in the Ocean’s Eleven saga! It will be directed by Jay Roach (Austin Powers).
Currently in the middle of filming the Barbie movie, Margot Robbie has just been announced in the casting of a prequel to the Ocean’s Eleven saga!
According to The Hollywood Reporterthe actress was chosen to play the main role under the direction of Jay Roach, father of the Austin Powers trilogy and the first two My stepfather and me.
The director has already collaborated with the actress in Scandal, released in theaters in January 2020. His performance had earned him an Oscar nomination for best supporting role in 2019.
The actress will also produce this new Ocean’s Eleven, which should be set in Europe in the 1960s.
Initiated by Steven Soderbergh in 2002, the trilogy was a triumph, carried by a cast of stars: George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Julia Roberts.
A female sequel was made in 2018 with Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett, Ocean’s 8. Unfortunately, it did not have the expected critical success. However, it brought in nearly $300 million in worldwide revenue for a budget of $70 million.
In the meantime, Barbie will land in theaters on July 19, 2023. We will also see the 31-year-old Australian in the new Damien Chazelle, Babylon, in cinemas on January 25, 2023.
