Marilyn Monroe: have the causes of her death really been established?

Marilyn Monroe took her last breath at the age of 36. World famous, his death made the headlines of all the tabloids. But what did the glamor icon die of?

After a career of about fifteen years (started in 1946), the situation is very sad for Marilyn Monroe, who sank into a terrible drug addiction. She consumes amphetamines and barbiturates, like you swallow candy. And she drinks too much alcohol… The glamor icon also suffered from problems related to her Mental Health, as the depression. Anxious, she hardly ever slept. In 1962, she went very badly. The one who whispered in the ear of the Kennedys staggered on the stage of the Golden Globes to recover her prize of “female star of the world for 1961”: her condition worries all Hollywood. At the end of July of the same year, she has an abortion. Even more depressed, she consults her doctors who are prescribing many medications for her … She doesn’t know it yet, but she has a week to live.

On Saturday August 4, the actress devotes her day to making numerous phone calls, surrounded by her friends. Several people who passed him that day said that the blonde was under the influence of tranquilizers. Peter Lawford, the Kennedys’ brother-in-law, calls her at 7:45 p.m.: she seems depressed and confused. He calls back a little later and comes across the housekeeper who indicates that all is well and that she is asleep: it is 8:30 p.m. According to biographer Donald Spoto, the pin-up is, at this precise hour, already dead or is dying of an overdose. On the night of August 4 to 5, 1962, Marilyn Monroe was found dead by her governess Eunice Murray, her psychiatrist Ralph Greenson, and Doctor Engelberg. After investigation and autopsy, the Los Angeles medical examiner will note in his file the term “probable suicide”. His exact death will never be elucidated.

Marilyn Monroe: what hypotheses around her death?

In front of a summary autopsy reportLos Angeles District Attorney John Miner First To Consider the assassination hypothesis. Due to the lack of evidence, the investigators who had looked into the investigation never closed the file, never really talking about a suicide, or even a homicide. Doubt hovers. According to several rumors, the famous actress was the victim of a plot fomented by the FBI or the CIA, for the sole purpose of accumulating evidence against the family Kennedy. Rumors taken up by the novelist Norman Mailer, who will however recognize later that the book, Marilyn, a biography, was pure fiction for the purpose of making a profit.
