The day after the second round of the legislative elections, Marine Le Pen announced that she “would not take the lead” of the National Rally to devote herself to the presidency of her parliamentary group in the National Assembly.
Marine Le Pen announced Monday from her stronghold of Hénin-Beaumont (Pas-de-Calais) that she would not “take the lead” of her party, the National Rally, to devote herself to the presidency of the future RN group in The national assembly.
“I will not take over the head of the RN. I will focus on the presidency of this very large group”, declared the far-right presidential finalist, who said she was “surprised” by the number of RN deputies – 89, a record – elected Sunday evening in the second round of the legislative elections, when she hoped for around 60.
