While some rumors evoked an announcement for Mario Kart 9, it is not so and Nintendo will instead expand the content of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, adding around fifty new circuits. These are not new tracks per se, since they all come from old episodes of the franchise and are therefore more or less known to players. They have, for the occasion, benefited from a small remastering.
These races will come in waves, allowing for more to be discovered over time. Six in total are planned, the first of which will arrive in March. Wave 1 is actually scheduled to be released on March 18, 2022 and includes, among other things, the Choco Mountain or the Tokyo Crossing Tower. Each wave will bring 8 circuits and we can expect content until the end of 2023.
The price of the DLC is €24.99, which remains quite accessible, since it will allow the very many players of Mario Kart 8 to immerse themselves in these iconic circuits, with, as always, the objective of being the best. We will know more about the content of the other waves and their arrival date in the weeks and months to come.
