Mark Wahlberg is known for his toned body. For a new film project, however, he has now gained nine kilos.

Mark Wahlberg (49) is hardly recognizable: For his new feature film “Father Stu”, the otherwise well-trained actor gained around nine kilos. He now presented this physical transformation using a before-and-after photo on his Instagram account. While Wahlberg’s steely muscles can still be seen in one picture, there is no trace of a six-pack in the second photo.

Mark Wahlberg has raised for a new role

According to his caption, there should be only three weeks between the two shots. The film star further explained that he owed the rapid increase to the cooking skills of food blogger and private chef Lawrence Duran.

At the beginning of April, the Hollywood star was on the show “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” as a guest and already revealed some details about his upcoming film project. In “Father Stu” Wahlberg will play a man named Stuart Long, who starts a career as a boxer, but later also tries his hand at acting and after an accident finally becomes a pastor. “He died of a rare disease, IBM, but it had a big impact on a lot of people in a short space of time,” said the 49-year-old. The clergyman died in 2014 after a battle with inflammatory muscle disease.

There should be more kilos

Wahlberg has not yet reached his goal with his weight. In total, he wanted to gain 13 kilos, as he revealed in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel. The well-being of the “Ted” star should be in the foreground: “[Die Filmemacher] want me to make it as healthy as possible. “It is not yet known when and whether the film will be released in German cinemas or offered on a streaming service.
