Meta-CEO had to undergo surgery after a cruciate ligament tear

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg tore his cruciate ligament while training in martial arts. Surgery is supposed to bring relief.
Mark Zuckerberg (39) has been a martial arts enthusiast since the times of the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year, the Meta CEO revealed to the well-known podcaster Joe Rogan (56) According to “CBSNews” in a conversation, his mixed martial arts training would increase his energy, which would have proven useful for everyday work. But now Zuckerberg, one of the richest people in the world, had to accept a setback. The 39-year-old will probably have to give up his beloved martial arts training for a while.

“Tore my cruciate ligament while training and just got out of surgery to have it replaced,” writes Zuckerberg on his own social media network Instagram. A series of images show him in a hospital bed. In the first shot, the billionaire holds his left fist up in victory, while his knee is bandaged and supported. His wife Priscilla Chan (38) can also be seen in one of the photos. She lovingly pats her injured husband’s forehead.
Serious injury during mixed martial arts training
According to his post, Zuckerberg suffered the serious injury while training for a mixed martial arts fight next year. This would now be “delayed somewhat,” Zuckerberg continued. However, he still intends to get into the ring.

Zuckerberg seems to want to continue to consistently advance his martial arts career. The tech billionaire took part in a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition in May of this year and immediately won a gold and silver medal in his competition debut in this sport.
A – so far purely verbal – exchange of blows between Tesla CEO and X owner Elon Musk (52) and Zuckerberg also made headlines over the summer. The two billionaires seemed to have agreed to have a so-called “cage match” in a fenced arena.
But this exchange of blows between the tech heavyweights now seems to be off the table again. In August, Zuckerberg wrote on his “Threads” platform that Musk knew how to reach him if he “ever got serious.” Until then, Zuckerberg wants to concentrate on competitors “who take the sport seriously,” as “CBSNews” reports.
