Market: Holcim splits its activities in North America, appoints a new CEO

ZURICH (Reuters) – Holcim will split its activities in North America and list them on the United States stock market in the first half of 2025, the Swiss construction materials giant announced on Sunday.

Miljan Gutovic, current head of activities in Europe, will also replace Jan Jenisch as CEO on May 1, Holcim also announced.

This is the most profound transformation undertaken by the cement manufacturer since the absorption of the French Lafarge in 2015.

Holcim’s activities outside North America will remain listed on the Zurich Stock Exchange.

Jan Jenisch, who has led the group since 2017, will retain his position as chairman of the supervisory board and will lead the listing project for the North American activities.

Calling the United States one of the most attractive markets in the world for the construction sector, Jan Jenisch said in a group press release: “By fully capitalizing on the infrastructure and construction boom in the region , we will accelerate growth and create value for our shareholders.”
