“Marketing saves Call of Duty” according to Dr Disrespect

During a recent stream, Dr Disrespect talked about the marketing behind Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty games in general.

Dr Disrespect, aka Guy Beahm, has commented on the recent Modern Warfare 2 reveal, suggesting that Call of Duty isn’t living up to their marketing promotions. The disguised streamer is not only known for his career in the streaming world, he is also known for his work as a map designer on old Call of Duty games such as Advanced Warfare.

With Modern Warfare 2 coming just a few months away, the developers have finally revealed the first images of the next game in the Call of Duty franchise. And Dr Disrespect did not fail to react to these new visuals.

Modern Warfare 2 should offer a beta several weeks before its official launch.

On May 24, Call of Duty fans got to know the first Modern Warfare 2 characters with some very telling visuals. We now have an exact release date and beta leaks.

As usual, the CoD community got excited, especially with the potential arrival of Warzone 2 at the same time.

However, Dr Disrespect hasn’t been too happy with the direction of Call of Duty lately, especially with Warzone’s Caldera map. Along with giving developers advice for Warzone 2, the Doc gave his thoughts on general Call of Duty marketing.

The streamer reacted strongly to the various official revelations concerning Modern Warfare 2: “There is nothing ! We’re getting to the point where marketing saves Call of Duty. Is it crazy to think that? Like, it’s not the real product, it’s just marketing.”

Clearly we haven’t seen any Modern Warfare 2 gameplay footage yet and a lot of fans are already getting excited, so it may be a few more weeks before we see Dr Disrespect optimistic about the next Call of Duty game.
