Marvel finally reveals the cast of Fantastic 4 and it promises to be insane. The House of Ideas has pulled out all the stops to save its MCU, but will it be enough?
Marvel is trying to save the ship from sinking and it’s not easy. While its MCU is very mistreated and the failures follow one another at a speed that is a bit too high, the House of Ideas also has a lot of internal problems. Postponements, cancellations, changes in direction or casting… it’s not glorious. But there is still a little (a lot) of light at the end of the tunnel. No, this is clearly not the end and it could even be that it starts again soon.
Marvel is banking on crazy casting for Fantastic 4!
Superheroes are popular even if the latest productions tend to tell us the opposite. From Black Panther 2it’s a bit of a gentle descent into hell on the MCU side, as for Sony’s films (Morbius and company), it’s getting worse and worse. The latest, Madame Web (which has no affiliation with the MCU), is a dismal failure.
Regardless, the market remains frankly juicy and on the side of Marvel and Disney, we want to continue the MCU. Among the big upcoming films, in addition to Deadpool 3 which should (we hope) tear it all apart this summer, there is Fantastic Four. A quartet well known to comic book fans and which is of capital importance in the Marvel universe.
After months and months of rumors, Marvel FINALLY announces its casting and it’s five stars.
As the Elastic Man and the brains of the group, we find a certain Pedro Pascal. An ultra bankable actor and already headlining big successful series like Mandalorian or The Last of Us recently. To accompany him, Vanessa Kirby who will play the Invisible Woman. Actress already seen in very big productions as well, notably in Napoleon recently. Finally, to close the quartet, Marvel is banking on Joseph Quinn, the immense Eddie Munson of Stranger Things season 4. The actor will here take the role of the Human Torch while The Thing will be played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach, recently seen in the series Bear or in the comedy The challenge alongside Jennifer Lawrence.
Very very heavy therefore to save Marvel, and we cross our fingers that this is the case. The film is expected to go into production soon and is expected to release by July 25, 2025 if all goes well. But hey, lately the release dates at Marvel… it’s not really that.
