Marvel: Sebastian Stan learned that he was playing in Black Panther in a completely improbable way

Actor Sebastian Stan, star of the Disney+ series “Pam & Tommy”, recently shared how he joined the cast of the superhero film “Black Panther”. And it’s quite amazing!

In full promotion of the Disney+ series Pam & Tommy, in which he plays the famous drummer of Motley Crue, Tommy Lee, Sebastian Stan returned at the microphone of Esquire on his experience in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. During this interview, the interpreter of the Winter Soldier notably told how he had been hired for his cameo in the film Black Panther.

One would have thought that Sebastian Stan would have been contacted upstream, in a very formal way, to appear in the credits of such a big production. However, nothing happened, the actor having been informed by surprise by Kevin Feige, the big boss of Marvel studios.

According to the 39-year-old actor, it was at an airport, precisely while waiting to pick up his luggage with Kevin Feige, that he learned the news. “I think it was on the set of Captain America: Civil War”says the actor.

“Kevin says to me: ‘Oh, by the way, we will need you at the beginning of next week, you will do a scene with Ryan Coogler’ (the director of Black Panther, editor’s note) he continues. “It’s always been that way, actually. It’s always been done in a flippant way.” A surprisingly relaxed practice for such an important film, even if it is only a scene here.

Sebastian Stan, who played James “Bucky” Barnes in 2011 and the first Captain America, then found his character several times on the big screen, especially in the last two installments of the Avengers saga. His last appearance in the role dates back to last year, in the Disney+ series Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
