Marvel Snap: Update of January 10, the details – Marvel Snap

An update is available for Marvel Snap this January 10. This fixes a few problems and brings several balances, especially at the meta level with many changes to the cards. As expected, Leader sees her power reduced by one point, but this shouldn’t change much about her and she should continue to be heavily used.

In order not to be lost, we offer you the patch notes in French of the January 10 update for Marvel Snap.

Marvel Snap January 10 Update

Map Updates

  • Aero 5/8 → 5/7
    • Developer Comment: The Aero effect can be a powerful tool for disruption and control. Although we previously buffed Aero to its current stat level, players have since learned to harness its full potential, so we think it’s appropriate to lower its Power a bit.
  • Galactus 6/3 → 6/2
    • Developer Comment: Even at the highest game ranks, Galactus and the decks that use it exhibit abnormally high cube gain and win rates. Not all of these decks overtly rely on this approach, and the number of cards that can complete it is very varied and very difficult for some decks to counter. We are therefore decreasing the power of Galactus and will assess whether or not we should make more significant changes in the future.
  • The Leader 6/4 → 6/3
    • Developer Comment: The Leader’s effect proves very frustrating to many players and polarizes its ability to lock games and prevent other 6 cost cards from being played. We’ll lower its potency slightly for now and consider further changes in the future.
  • Nova 1/2 → 1/1
    • Developer Comment: Nova’s effect makes it much stronger than any other 1 cost card, so we don’t think it’s appropriate for it to have the stats of an average 1 cost card.
  • Drax 4/4
    • Revealed: If your opponent played a card here this turn, Power +4. → 4/5 Revealed: If your opponent played a card here during this turn, Power +3.
  • Groot 3/3
    • Revealed: If your opponent played a card here this turn, Power +3. → 3/4 Revealed: If your opponent played a card here during this turn, Power +2.
      • Developer Comment: We think the effects of Guardians create some fun moments, but they give a little too much of a “make or break” feel. We’re buffing Drax and Groot’s base stats slightly to make them less risky to play and hopefully make them more viable alternatives in cost 3 and 4 slots.
  • Hazmat 2/1 → 2/2
    • Developer Comment: While we’re aware that decks that use Hazmat’s combo look powerful, Hazmat’s results are pretty disappointing overall. In this update, we’re giving a small bonus to decks it’s used in.
  • The Black Cat 3/6 → 3/7
    • Developers’ Comments: The Black Cat barely participates in any games, so we’re giving her a Power bonus to make her more worth her cost.
  • Nakia 3/1 → 3/2
    • Developer Comment: We think Nakia’s effect presents a fun game mechanic, but she rarely tastes of victory. We hope that a small bonus will make it a more attractive option.
