Officialized with great fanfare during the Game Awards 2023, Marvel’s Blade lifts the veil a little more around its atmosphere and its artistic direction.

While Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 marked this end of the year in terms of video game superhero adaptations, the French teams of Arkane Lyon, notably known for having developed the series Dishonoredare concocting a new Marvel game dedicated to the character of Blade.

Although we have very little information about Marvel’s Blade for the moment, the studio has nevertheless just shared the first illustrative images around its next game.

Video game adaptations of superheroes are definitely on the rise. While players anxiously await news of Marvel’s WolverineArkane and Bethesda have just formalized a new game adapted from Marvel licenses.

Still at the beginning of its development, Marvel’s Blade will take the form of a third-person single-player game. The events of the story will take place in a district of Paris placed in quarantine following a vampire attack. Renowned for its ability to offer gameplay in the service of storytelling, Arkane Lyon promises players to embody the character of Blade (who, remember, is half-human, half-vampire) and to see him evolve in the city of Paris. Expected at the turning point, the French studio caused a strong sensation when it announced Marvel’s Blade during the last edition of the Game Awards.

In order to calm the enthusiasm, Sebastien Mitton, who is none other than the creative co-director within the Arkane Lyon teams, has just shared the first artworks of Marvel’s Blade.

These first concepts allow us to get a more precise idea of ​​the artistic orientation adopted by Marvel’s Blade. Thus, the works below, signed Sergey Kolesov and Jean-Luc Monnet, reveal futuristic environments in the streets and on the rooftops of Paris.

One of the illustrations shared by Arkane allows us to discover Blade looking to infiltrate a club. As reported to us by our colleagues from GamesRadarthis is obviously reminiscent of one of the sequences of the eponymous film where the character of Blade was played on screen by actor Wesley Snipes.

The third illustration emphasizes a clash between Blade and vampires in the Paris metro. After having proven themselves on Dishonored And Deathloopthere is no shadow of a doubt that the talented teams of Arkane Lyon will manage to perfectly transcribe the universe of Blade while reappropriating the codes of the famous comic book hero.

For information, the development of Marvel’s Blade reportedly started about two years ago. No release window has yet been communicated, and the title, which already promises to be quite mature, should, like Starfieldland on PC and Xbox Series X|S.
