Since Playstation Showcasecommunication around the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 ofInsomniac Games is finally launched. The studio had not done things by halves by broadcasting 12 minutes of gameplay introducing Kraven and above all showing us To fart wearing the symbiote suit. Venom will be at the heart of this sequel and it is not the superb statuette of the collector’s edition that will make us say the opposite. We had a date tonight the panel Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: Symbiotic Relationships of the San Diego Comic-Con 2023 to learn more about behind the scenes and the character voiced by Tony Todd. It was during the latter that was broadcast an all-new spectacular trailer dedicated to the storyline, putting us in the spotlight once again.
After this trailerhard to doubt thatHarry Osborn should take on the appearance of Venomwith both declaring that they want to heal the world. miles will be confronted with the murderer of his father and probably also with To fart as the symbiote suit alters his behavior. We also find some glimpses of Kraven and Lizardand great shots of New York.
THE Community Director James Stevenson ofInsomniac Games also spoke on the PlayStation-Blog to comment on the video and summarize what was said during the panel of the SDCC.
San Diego Comic-Con has always been one of the most exciting times for Marvel fans. We had an amazing time in 2018 with the original Marvel’s Spider-Man, and we were thrilled to return to Hall H today to talk about Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. For those of you who couldn’t join us, here’s a recap of what happened!
We wanted to start the panel off with a bang, by launching our brand new trailer. Take a look!
The trailer sets up our in-game story while giving you a full first look at the monstrous Venom in New York! Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Senior Narrative Director Jon Paquette is here to offer a more in-depth look:
“At the start of our story, our Spider-Men are at the top of their game,” Paquette said. “But Peter Parker and Miles Morales are struggling with their personal lives. Miles tries to find time to write his college entrance essay, but he keeps procrastinating and focusing on Spider-work instead. Meanwhile, Peter is under water over payments for Aunt May’s house, but he can’t sell, it means too much to him. And just like Miles, Peter tries (and fails) to balance so much responsibility. MJ wants to help Pete with the mortgage, but his job is on the line now that J. Jonah Jameson is back at the Bugle looking to clean up. Our heroes have come to a crossroads, with an uncertain future and difficult decisions to make. »
When the Kraven Hunters arrive in town, it triggers a mystery as to why they’re here and who and what they’re hunting. But as the Spider-Men and MJ dig deeper into Kraven’s motives, the symbiote begins to threaten New York, and everyone and everything they hold dear.
As many of you noticed in the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 gameplay trailer from PlayStation Showcase in May, Peter’s new black costume has affected his personality and gives him powerful new symbiote abilities. You also see snippets of it in this trailer, and you can see Peter’s symbiote powers test his relationships with Miles, MJ and Harry.
(Spoilers for 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man ahead!) Given how much Miles Morales looks to Peter for mentorship and guidance, this creates further problems. In addition to trying to figure out what’s next in his life, Miles continues to struggle with his father’s death at the hands of Martin Li, aka Mister Negative. As you saw in the trailer, you’re not done hearing about Mister Negative.
We asked Senior Creative Director Bryan Intihar about some of the new abilities players will be able to use in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2:
“We’ve always thought of our Spider-Heroes as ‘acrobatic improvisers’ and in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 we wanted to give them new ways to do that in battle” , Intihar said. “This includes Pete’s Spider-Arms and Symbiote powers, while Miles now brings two forms of Venom bioelectricity to every fight. And when you start combining these abilities with all-new Spider-Gadgets like the Web Grabber, it can lead to some exciting combos. »
This trailer also provided new looks at our expanded New York. Now you can cross the East River and explore Brooklyn and Queens. Coney Island also debuts in the trailer and we can’t wait for you to explore it! One way to explore is with Web Wings! Let’s hear more from Senior Game Director Ryan Smith:
“We’re really excited for people to try Web Wings says Smith. ” For us, it was a great opportunity to bring something that people have seen in the comics and the movies and put it into the game. Swinging is central to Spider-Man’s movement, so we designed the Web Wings to work with and complement them. This way you can alternate between the two to increase speed and height. However, when using the Web Wings with our wind tunnels, it’s one of the ways to get through town really fast and really increase movement speed, which was one of our goals. Using the power and speed of the PS5, Web Wings add another layer to our movement system and change the way you move around different parts of town. »
With the reveal of Venom, we thought it was only fitting to bring our Collector’s Edition statue for the first time and show it off to the crowd.

We asked Bryan and Jon to bring such an iconic Marvel character to life as Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
“Our philosophy has always been to want to respect the history of the franchise and the Spider-Man DNA, but also to not be afraid to mix things up,” Intihar said. “The same goes for one of his iconic characters, Venom. While the character’s look and many of his powers/abilities should be familiar to fans, this will be a unique Venom story. that we are delighted that everyone lives in October. »
“When we decided to create a Venom story, we knew we would change the tone a bit. The best symbiote stories serve as an allegory: we all have darkness within us, but what if we let it take over? With the introduction of the symbiote to our franchise, our heroes are forced to battle the dark, in all its forms,” Paquette added. “We wanted to see them change, inside and out, and feel the effect that has on those around them. And when Venom takes over, they face the real danger of losing each other and their loved ones forever. »
The sensational actor Tony Todd brought Venom to life. We’ve long admired Tony and are so grateful to work with him to play Venom. His voice work brings Insomniac’s monstrous new design for the character to life – and Senior Art Director Jacinda Chew explains more:
“Our Venom was inspired by the comics, but there were so many interpretations that it was fun to choose what fits the game,” Chew said. “He has a unique take on the white spider icon and has the anatomy of a human. It also has powerful tendril attacks that can take many forms. Finding the right balance of liquid and solid in Venom’s materials was difficult, as getting too watery makes it look weak and getting too solid can quickly turn it into a sprawling monster. Venom should look both powerful and semi-liquid. »
We’ve got some other fun news to share from SDCC. We’re thrilled to be working with one of my favorite poster artists, Tomer Hanuka, along with Marvel Games and Mondo, to produce an all-new Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 poster for San Diego Comic-Con. The poster depicts Venom battling our Spider-Men in Tomer’s signature art style. While the sale of the screenprint variant (215 edition) is limited to Mondo’s booth (booth 5137) during the event, Mondo has a Timed Edition screenprint for sale on its website! It’s available from now until Sunday, July 23 at 9:59 PM PDT and they’ll print one out for anyone who places an order. There’s also a special promo-edition lithograph that the developers and voice actors will be signing at the Marvel booth (booth #2329) on Thursday, July 20.
We also discussed another collaboration with Mondo to release a vinyl soundtrack of composer John Paesano’s incredible in-game music. Kris Anka gratifies the vinyl with his incredible art, which is currently in development. Starting today, you can pre-order the vinyl on the Mondo website.
The release date of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is as a reminder set for October 20, 2023 on PS5. You can pre-order your copy on Amazon at a price of €69.99.
