The big exclusivity PlayStation 5 of this end of the year, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2will be entitled to a burst of new content from the start of next year.
Available since last October, Insomniac Games’ latest production got off to a flying start. Now the fastest-selling PlayStation exclusive in history, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 reached the milestone of 5 million copies sold just eleven days after its launch.
If the title has since benefited from a few fixes, players have been impatiently awaiting the arrival of a New Game Plus mode. Good news, since the first big update should soon see the light of day.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 : many highly anticipated new features on the way
Probably many of you have already turned the sumptuous city of New York inside out, alongside Miles Morales and Peter Parker. If you were starting to get bored in this open world plagued by crimes and attacks, know that the Insomniac Games teams are concocting an update that should make you want to go back on patrol in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
In a press release published a few days ago, the studio, a member of PlayStation Studios since 2019, confirmed the arrival of a New Game Plus mode for the start of 2024.
We’re also learning that other highly requested features from players will be coming, such as the ability to change the time of day at any time and replay missions as you see fit. Finally, note that options related to audio description will also be deployed with this update.
Performance RT mode is still waiting
While waiting for the deployment of all these very nice features, remember that very sensitive information from Insomniac Games was exposed by a ransomware attack. Therefore, images of Marvel’s Wolverine have already started to leak on the Web.
More importantly, personal data from studio employees and Yuri Lowental (who plays Peter Parker in Marvel’s Spider-Man) were also stolen by the perpetrators of this attack.
To conclude on a more positive note, let’s hope that the next update of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be an opportunity for the studio to incorporate the famous “Performance RT” mode.
As a reminder, this allows players to enjoy an experience combining ray tracing with 60 fps. This mode had already been added in Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales And Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart.
