2024 - MasterChef: the broadcast date of the France 2 culinary competition revealed

MasterChef is back in service. It is now France 2 which will broadcast the new version of the amateur cooking competition. Find out when the launch will take place.

Prepare to salivate. While Louise Bourrat won the thirteenth season of Top chefand that Baptiste and Jérémy won the fifth edition of the Best Pastry Chef, The Professionals, cooking on television has not said its last word. This time, it’s on France 2 that gourmets will have an appointment. The public service channel is preparing to give a second life to MasterChef, which was originally broadcast on TF1. The competition for amateur cooks had made the heyday of the private channel in the early 2010s before finally collapsing. Which is far from scaring France 2, which hopes to restore its letters of nobility to this competition which continues to be broadcast throughout the world. This is from next Tuesday, August 23 that the channel will give the kick-off to this brand new version.

Only Yves Camdeborde, emblematic juror of MasterChefstack. For the rest, France 2 wanted to bring a breath of fresh air to this competition. This will notably pass through its host, Agathe Lecaron. “The fact that it is someone else who presents, that also puts another tone and another color“, had promised the host of The Kindergarten houseHoping “make it a happy program“. For this, she will be able to count on a trio of exceptional jurors – both in terms of their reputation and their their palpable complicity which brings humor, benevolence and good humor to this competition. Yves Camdeborde will therefore be surrounded by Thierry Marx as well as Georgiana Viou, finalist of the first edition of the competition, who has since opened her own restaurant in Marseille and taken over the reins of the bar-restaurant Rouge, in Nîmes.

What are the differences between the MasterChef of France 2 and that of TF1?

And the least we can say is that even Georgiana Viou must have been surprised by this news version of MasterChef. This no longer has much to do with the one viewers experienced on TF1. Finished in particular the mythical first test during which one hundred candidates competed on the chiseling of an onion for example in order to hope to win their place in the competition. This time, they will only start the adventure with 18 candidates. And only nine of them will qualify for the second issue of the contest. Their mission? Seduce the jurors with their signature dish. France 2 indeed wished to refocus the program on the kitchen rather than on the show. “We are not in a show. Amateur cuisine is unpredictable and offers wildly daring things, without filters. The amateur is driven by his passion which creates amazing things“, rejoiced the producer Matthieu Bayle during the press conference.
