By the might of Grayskull! Streaming service Netflix continues to soar to become the ultimate home for all things He-Man. After the children’s series “He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe”, the eighties sequel “Masters of the Universe: Revelation” and before that “She-Ra and the Rebel Princesses” there is now also a (still untitled ) “He-Man” live action on Netflix.
The project had been in development at the Sony film studio for a long time as a feature film, but it didn’t really get off the ground there. Now Netflix has struck – and most likely in the summer of 2023 the live-action film will flicker across the screens of the Californian streaming service.
The leading actor for the “He-Man” film on Netflix has already been announced
It was rumored that To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before star Noah Centineo was originally set to star as Sony’s Prince Adam/He-Man. As the US industry journal Deadline reports, the 27-year-old young actor Kyle Allen will wield the sword of power. Allen has appeared in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story remake and American Horror Story Season 8, among others.
“We can’t wait to see Kyle battle Skeletor in this epic live-action saga,” said Mattel Films’ Robbie Brenner, speaking about the cast news.
Adam and Aaron Nee (“The Lost City”) will direct the now announced “He-Man” movie on Netflix. The two are responsible for the script together with Marvel and DC author David Callaham (“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”, “Wonder Woman 1984”).
