Matej Mohoric wins after a daring attack

As in the previous year, the favorites have to admit defeat to an outsider at the first major cycling classic of the year. The Slovenian Matej Mohoric surprisingly wins the 113th edition of Milan-Sanremo.

Matej Mohoric also wins because of his new seat post.

No sprinter and no tour specialist clinched victory in the Classique Milan-Sanremo this year. A downhill skier tricks them all. Matej Mohoric, inventor of the “Super-Tuck” downhill position, which has since been banned, duped all competitors downhill with a sleek and rule-compliant descent. The lowerable seat post that Mohoric used played a large part in the victory.
