Mathieu Kassovitz reveals the circumstances of his motorcycle accident on Instagram

This Sunday, September 10, 2023, Mathieu Kassovitz took to his Instagram account to come back to his serious motorcycle accident which occurred on September 3. The filmmaker explained that he wanted to impress his daughter on the motorcycle circuit, which caused him to be plunged into a coma following this terrible fall.

Starring in the psychological thriller Visions, released in theaters on September 6 and in which he gives the reply to Diane Kruger, Mathieu Kassovitz was forced to put an end to the promotion of the feature film. Indeed, on Sunday September 3, 2023, the director of the film Hate was the victim of a serious motorcycle accident on the Montlhéry circuit, in Essonne. A violent fall following which the actor and director was plunged into an artificial coma as soon as he was taken to the hospital in order to ease his suffering.

As soon as he woke up, Mathieu Kassovitz wanted to thank his loved ones and fans for the many messages of support they showed. Having been awake for several days, Mathieu Kassovitz is not out of trouble yet. Indeed, the filmmaker suffers from several injuries including multiple ankle fractures. Despite the efficient work of the doctors, he expects to follow a rehabilitation period of about six months before being able to walk normally again.

This Sunday, September 10, 2023, Mathieu Kassovitz seized his account again Instagram to return, in more detail, to the circumstances of his accident. “I was offered to go motorcycling with my daughter, a motorbike enthusiast, and my son. We had a great riding session and at the end of the day, my friend, who runs a motorcycle school, wanted to do a battle with my daughterhe explained on camera to his subscribers on the social network.

The least we can say is that the filmmaker is not proud of what follows. She was behind him and he asked me to go in front. (…) I wanted my daughter to think that her father is a superhero and so I wanted to get down on one knee. I took a turn too wide, I was afraid of falling and I hit the safety rail directly,” he said before adding: “I’m a c ** and bad biker”. In the rest of his video, the director revealed the extent of his injuries. “I have the femur that was replaced, they put a titanium rod in the holes there and then I have another thing in the foot. My ankle, on both sides, is completely pulverized”he said.
