It’s an old story. In a long interview with singer Matthieu Chedid, published in the columns of Parisian on November 26, the artist returned to the release, on December 7, of the film of his show at the Accor Arena and to his new live album recorded during his tour Dreaminess. During this interview, the one who calls himself -M- on stage was asked about his relationship to politics. Discreet about his positionsthe singer justifies his silence: “I have no convictions to defend. My commitment is more poetic than political, but it is essential.” However, he specifies to vote, although “politics in itself is not for (him)”.
Often asked to speak, he says “always” say no. However, there is indeed a public figure to whom he cannot refuse anything: the Minister of CultureRima Abdul Malak. A particular relationship that he presents to Parisian as if dating back several years. Their meeting dates back to when the minister was 18, who was then an intern at Clowns Sans Frontières (a humanitarian association which puts on shows in countries in difficulty, editor’s note). “It is a long-time friend. I don’t see her with the same gaze, I don’t have a political but a friendly outlook on her.”, he explains. Very complimentary, Andrée Chedid’s grandson says he finds her “brilliant, adorable, humanist, concrete and transparent”. He specifies : “It’s complex, she doesn’t have control over everything, but she does it with her heart. She’s really invested.”

Last year, the composer of the musical The Pink Soldier already told the Parisian his long-standing friendship with the minister. “She’s my great friend.”he said, before specifying the nature of his relationship with her: “We lived in the same neighborhood. She worked with Céline, the mother of my granddaughter Billie, within Clowns Sans Frontières. We have great memories of concerts together for the benefit of this structure.“
