Maya Hawke hid her first time from her dad with a lie: she told it when she was about to lose her virginity.

It is quite normal for teenagers to hide from their parents when they first become intimate with another person. In an interview on the show “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen” Actress Maya Hawke (24) has now revealed what excuse she gave her famous father at the time. At the time, she told Ethan Hawke (52) that she was going to therapy – but instead she “really wanted to lose her virginity”.

Her father was therefore “very, very upset” when the truth came out. On the show, Maya also clarified that Ethan Hawke, despite his anger at her, never found out who she was seeing instead of therapy. “He made my life difficult,” recalls the “Stranger Things” actress. “He asked: Where have you been? Where have you gone?”

Her confession causes amusement

To distract him, she replied: “How am I supposed to have secrets if I’m not allowed to tell lies?” Maya’s story was amusing for moderator Andy Cohen (55) and fellow actor Bryan Cranston (67), who was also a guest on the show. The two praised her for “her good saying”, which deserves a “bumper sticker”.

Maya Hawke is the daughter of actor Ethan Hawke and actress Uma Thurman (53). Since 2019 she can be seen as Robin Buckley in the hit Netflix series “Stranger Things”.
