McPhy warns its loss has increased after revenue fell short of expectations in 2021

PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–The specialist in hydrogen production and distribution equipment McPhy published on Tuesday a turnover down 4.4% for the year 2021, and indicated that it expected an increase in its operating loss.

This loss is expected “around 25 million euros” in 2021, against 9 million euros in 2020, due in particular to “structuring projects necessary for the transition to the industrial scale being deployed”, explained the group in a press release.

“The group is focusing its efforts on developing its industrial system to scale up and address the growing needs of its markets, both in number and in size of projects”, commented Jean-Baptiste Lucas, CEO by McPhy.

Over the past year as a whole, the group’s turnover amounted to 13.1 million euros, against 13.7 million euros a year earlier.

According to a consensus established by FactSet, analysts expected an average annual turnover of 14.9 million euros.

Firm order intake reached 19 million euros, compared to 23 million euros in 2020, bringing the order book to 20 million euros at the end of 2021, up 30% compared to 2020, specified the company.

“Commercial momentum rebounded sharply in the second half, with the signing of several firm orders,” the company said.

As of December 31, McPhy had net cash of 177 million euros, compared to 198 million euros a year earlier.
