MCU Absurd: This is all happening in ‘Moon Knight’ on Disney+ while Marc Spector is in control

MCU viewers might be a little confused by the new Marvel series Moon Knight. The title character Moon Knight and Marc Spector are (almost) not seen in episode 1. Rather, viewers first and foremost get to know the superhero with an identity disorder through the perspective of his personality, Steven Grant. Only at the very end of the first episode does Marc Spector take control – and viewers get to see it for the first time.

Before that, it is not shown at all what Marc Spector is doing. Steven Grant repeatedly regains consciousness with no recollection of the events that took place in the period prior to that.

For a long time Steven Grant is therefore not at all sure whether it was all a dream. But when he finally finds Spector’s secret phone in the course of the first “Moon Knight” episode and then even meets Arthur Harrow at his workplace, he finally accepts the truth. At the very end of the episode, Steven actually lets Marc Spector take control of the split body in order to defeat the evil Jackal chasing him and save his own life.

What happened before that – when Steven Grant is not conscious – we have reconstructed for you as best we can.

Marc Spector steals the scarab

Steven Grant goes to bed about 10 minutes into the first episode of “Moon Knight”. Marc Spector takes control and is able to free himself from Grant’s restraints and security measures. He travels to a European country and steals the golden scarab from Arthur Harrow’s henchmen.

Just before Steven Grant regains consciousness, Marc has obviously fallen out of a building. However, he survived this fall from a great height quite well – apart from the dislocated lower jaw.

Presumably Marc Spector was in control of the body here from Thursday evening to Friday or Saturday.

Marc Spector fights with Arthur Harrow’s minions

Steven then runs to a nearby town – and there he finds Harrow holding his strange Ammit ceremony surrounded by disciples. Harrow wants the scarab back, but the moon god Khonshu won’t let Steven do what he wants.

Then Steven left again – and this time only for a short period of time. Moon Knight and Spector beat up and possibly even kill some of Arthur Harrow’s henchmen in a very brutal manner. At least Steven has a lot of blood on his hands when he regains consciousness.

Marc protects the scarab during a wild chase

Steven is escaping in a stolen delivery vehicle when one of Arthur Harrow’s men jumps aboard the truck through the back door. Ex-mercenary Marc Spector takes over again here and effectively kills the man with a headshot. He also steals the gun from him – and is still able to knock out another car that is driving next to him.

Marc Spector shows all his driving skills

Steven Grant’s next blackout may be the shortest of the 1st “Moon Knight” episode. Marc Spector takes over, turns the car around and reverses. He shoots some henchmen. Steven is very shocked when he regains consciousness.

Marc brings Steven home safely

How Steven finally gets out of the adventure in another country, he doesn’t know himself. However, Marc Spector brings him safely back home to his apartment.

And Marc Spector even takes care of Steven’s beloved goldfish – in a certain way. Unfortunately, the original fish probably died because it wasn’t fed for a few days. But Marc Spector goes to a pet shop and buys a new specimen, which looks slightly different, which Steven then notices.

Here Marc is once again in control for longer. The blackout is expected to last from Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning.

Marc Spector meets Khonshu

Once again Steven loses control over “his” body. Marc takes over after Steven sees the moon god Khonshu at his apartment complex. What exactly happened at that time is unclear.

When Steven regains consciousness, it’s Monday morning. He’s on a bus – and Arthur Harrow is on it too. It is conceivable here that Marc Arthur pursued Harrow – or vice versa. If Marc was chasing Harrow, Steven probably screwed him up when he wakes up unsuspectingly.

Marc becomes Moon Knight and defeats the Jackal

Viewers of the MCU series “Moon Knight” actually see Marc Spector’s very last appearance. Steven willingly lets him take control to save his own life. Marc dons his Moon Knight costume and defeats the Jackal, though viewers still don’t get to see all of the fight.

But the wrecked bathroom suggests things were getting pretty serious. The Jackal is probably dead – and Marc is still in control when the episode ends.
