FC Bayern bags the next mega transfer

FC Bayern is apparently about to sign Dutch international Matthijs de Ligt. Several media reports that Juventus accept the German champions’ latest offer. The 22-year-old gets an important role in the record champions.

FC Bayern apparently lands the next coup on the transfer market. The German record champions are said to have surprisingly quickly reached an agreement with Juventus Turin to change defender Matthijs de Ligt. According to Sport1 information, the Italian record champion accepted an offer of 70 million euros plus possible bonus payments of ten million euros for the Dutchman. Various media had previously reported that Munich had made an improved offer for the 22-year-old.

De Ligt had already stated that he wanted to move to Munich. He is expected to have a contract until 2027. There was initially no confirmation from the clubs. Ideally, de Ligt should already take part in Munich’s US tour (July 18th to 24th). Most recently, club boss Oliver Kahn emphasized that he did not assume that there would be a quick agreement in poker about the defensive talent. In Munich, de Ligt should play the important role of defense chief. Last season, the back line of coach Julian Nagelsmann’s team was surprisingly vulnerable. Neither Dayot Upamecano nor Lucas Hernández nor Niklas Süle, who has now switched to Borussia Dortmund, were able to fill the role of leader.

Bayern’s first offer is said to have amounted to 60 million euros plus ten million bonus payments. Bayern only spent more money on the record purchase of Lucas Hernandez, who came from Atlético Madrid in 2019 for a fixed 80 million euros. Even then there was interest in de Ligt, but he switched from Ajax Amsterdam to Juventus for 85.5 million euros. The 22-year-old, who still has a contract with Juve until June 30, 2024, is reportedly set to receive a five-year contract with the German record champions until 2027.
