Medion Erazer Supporter P12 in the test: light mouse
The Medion Erazer Wired Gaming Mouse Supporter P12 differs fundamentally from the Supporter P13. Players can only operate the P12 via USB cable, so it does not need a battery for wireless operation. The result: At around 95 grams, it is around 10 grams lighter than the P13. Is that an advantage? That’s a matter of taste: With a somewhat heavier mouse, figures and objects can often be controlled more precisely. On the other hand, a lighter mouse can be an advantage in hectic action scenes with many movements and actions. In short: every player has to decide for themselves.
On the other hand, there are no discussions about the workmanship: The Supporter P12 is undoubtedly fine, but it doesn’t feel as valuable as the P13. Everything looks a bit more edgy and simple. But the size fits like the P13: The Supporter P12 can be used comfortably for both small and larger player hands. And it can also be illuminated with RGB-REDs if desired.
Almost all buttons are placed within easy reach – as are the two thumb buttons on the left. Only the programmable button in front of the thumb buttons requires some acrobatics. And it is precisely the controls on the left that make the Supporter P12 a mouse that is only suitable for right-handers.
The PMW 3325 sensor from specialists Pixart located on the underside captures the mouse movements. The maximum scanning depth of the sensor is 5,000 dpi. That doesn’t sound like much compared to gaming mice with sampling depths of 16,000 dpi and more, but it is completely sufficient for most gamers because they only play at 2,000 to 4,000 dpi anyway.
Medion Erazer Supporter P12 in the test: conclusion
The Medion Erazer Wired Gaming Mouse Supporter P12 is a decent gaming mouse without a lot of frills. Aldi estimates 29.99 euros for this. That’s okay for the given performance and equipment. So it’s not a bargain. Comparably equipped models are also available from other brand manufacturers such as Logitech, Razer or Roccat.
