The prequel series is set in New York in 1975 and tells the story of young Winston Scott. He’s the manager of the Continental in the films, Ian McShane (79) plays him on the screen. Winston Scott is caught up in the series by his past as he fights his way through the underworld of the Big Apple to take control of the hotel.

The actor of the young Winston is not yet known. Mel Gibson plays a character named Cormac. There is no more information about the role yet.

Three-part series event

“The Continental” will be launched as a miniseries in the form of three 90-minute episodes on the US broadcaster Starz. According to “Deadline”, the broadcast could either take place over three evenings or as a TV event in one go. How exactly is still as open as the broadcast date.

What is certain, however, is that, contrary to initial plans, Keanu Reeves will not appear in the series. But the star is currently shooting “John Wick 4” for the cinema – with old Winston.
