Evil Geniuses won their first 3 encounters during the Lock In LCS this weekend. Without Svenskeren and IgNar, who are now officially free, and with a new head coach, Turtle.

The two players had already confirmed, at the end of last year, not having found a structure for the 2022 season on League of Legends. But there is still hope. As the year 2022 has now begun, it is therefore official: the jungler Dennis “Svenskeren” Johnsen and support Lee “Ignar” Dong-geun are free for this Spring Split. Contracts with Evil Geniuses have indeed been terminated, according to Riot’s database. With no other solution for the season, here are two new veterans on a forced break.

The NA team had pushed the players to the bench during the announcement of the new arrivals last November during the transfer window, and in particular the Inspired and Vulcan recruits. A new starting five seemed to be forming and as the Lock In LCS just started (with 3 wins for EG), it sealed the fate of the team’s two former competitors. EG also announced its new coaching staff this weekend with a lot of changes and especially the arrival of Peter Dun as head of coaching staff.

In his place as head coach, we now find the Brazilian Gabriel “Turtle” Peixoto, previously the team’s coach. The Lock-In, LCS preseason tournament, will resume next weekend.
