Mercato LoL: the 2022 world champion at the head of FlyQuest


He’s back in the LCS! the Coach Kim “Ssong” Sang-soo who had left the NA to join DRX in 2021, returns to the North American Championship, this time to lead the team of FlyQuest in 2023. And this time, it’s crowned with a League of Legends world championship title, following his victory at the Worlds with DRX, an LCK structure to which he returned in February after a four-month break.

Passed by Immortals, TSM or even CLG between 2017 and 2020, coach SSONG is no stranger to the LCS. But yet, he never won anything in this league, unlike the LCK. His best run in NA dates back to the 2017 and 2018 seasons where he earned a top 2 in the regional final and another top 2 in the split playoffs. His return to DRX in 2022 was consecrated, as he took his team to the roof of the world.

With this arrival, FlyQuest hits hard, with a roster including several Korean compatriots, with VicLa, Prince and Impact for the 2023 season. The squad for the coming season is therefore confirmed, while Sharkzformer head coach, is promoted to head of coaching.
