For actress Meret Becker, the first visit to the cinema after the long lockdown was apparently very emotional. “The tears” came to her.

The German actress Meret Becker (52) was back in the cinema for the first time after the long lockdown. For Becker this was an obviously emotional visit, as she explains in an interview with the “Augsburger Allgemeine”. “That made me cry. I’m built so close to the water,” says the 52-year-old.

“It will take time for cinema to recover”

The whole thing was “a bit embarrassing”, because “it’s not all cineastes or filmmakers who are sitting around you”. In her opinion, it will take some time before the cinema can recover from the crisis caused by the corona pandemic.

“It’s like a game of dominoes. You just knock over a stone and a whole row falls,” explains Becker. Although there are “many clever people” who dealt with the matter, “unfortunately, many perished. Of course, always the little ones, the fine ones”.
