Yesterday the instant messaging service from Facebook, Messengerannounced the deployment in the world of two major new features, which will be followed in the near future by other features to make discussions with friends more ” effective ” and ” funs “.

New shortcuts are finally arriving on Messenger to make the use of group conversations on smartphones more fluid.

Mentions and orders

Messenger is the center of millions of instant conversations around the world, which sometimes include several dozen people and it can be laborious to get everyone’s attention. The Facebook service has therefore announced that it has added a new shortcut on iOS and Android to notify all of the people present in the conversation. Just like when you want to tag a single person, just write @everyone on the screen.

Another novelty is the “/silent” shortcut which, if placed at the beginning of your message, disables the sending of a notification to the people who receive it. Practical, we are told, if you want to send a philosophical thought at 4 a.m. without disturbing those who are sleeping. This shortcut is also available on Instagram by writing @silent.

Finally, we are told that a “/Pay” function will soon be available in the United States, to pay friends more quickly. Going for a Gif will be easier with the shortcut “/gif” followed by the theme of the Gif sought, which will soon arrive first on iOS. And finally, like Discord for example, Messenger will allow (again soon on iOS), to enter the shortcuts “/shrug” and “/tableflip” to display the famous emoticons.
