On May 6, 2024, the infamous Met Gala will take place again at New York’s Metropolitan Museum. This time the guests will walk the red carpet to the theme “The Garden of Time”. In addition to “Vogue” editor-in-chief Anna Wintour (74), Latino rapper Bad Bunny (30), actor Chris Hemsworth (40), musician Jennifer Lopez (54) and actress Zendaya (27) are co-chairs of the gala this year. Some of the celebrity guests whose extravagant looks we will soon be able to admire are now known.

These celebrities are supposed to come to the Met Gala in 2024

According to the US portal “Page Six” “Killers of the Flower Moon” star Lily Gladstone (37) and “The Bear” actress Ayo Edebiri (28) are on the guest list – it would be the first Met Gala for both of them. Gisele Bündchen (43) is also expected to take part – for the first time without her ex-husband Tom Brady (46). Maybe the Brazilian supermodel will come to the gala with her alleged new boyfriend?

Megastar Rihanna (36), who has impressed numerous times with her striking looks in the past – including her yellow fur look in 2015 and her pink floral dress in 2017 – is also said to be on the list.

According to the paper, only one person from the Kardashian-Jenner family has apparently confirmed their participation so far: model Kendall Jenner (28). Other names on the list include pop star Olivia Rodrigo (21), actress Uma Thurman (53), Sarah Paulson (49) and Met Gala regular Cara Delevingne (31). “Saltburn” star Barry Keoghan (31) is also said to have received an invitation. Will he appear at the gala with his new girlfriend Sabrina Carpenter (24)?

Met Gala theme “Garden of Time”: What could the outfits look like?

This year’s gala is intended to open the exhibition “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” which consists of around 250 exhibits from the 400-year history of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. The main areas of land, sea and sky are in the foreground. This year’s dress code, “The Garden of Time,” was announced in February. The guests have around three months to think about a suitable outfit.

According to Vogue The event and the associated exhibition celebrate clothing and fashion that is so fragile that it can no longer be worn. These precious pieces embody, so to speak, the “Sleeping Beauties” of the Costume Institute’s meticulously managed archive.

The dress code “Garden of Time” is based on a short story with the same title by JG Ballard from 1962. So this year we are likely to see a lot of floral creations, but also music-inspired looks, watch-shaped dresses, black velvet or silk ties on the red carpet…
