Notice to virtual reality enthusiasts, and more specifically to holders of a Meta Quest 2, Pro Or OculusQuest, you can redeem digital gift cards now. The perfect opportunity to please while offering the recipient the choice of what really makes them want.
Deployed in the USA last October, digital gift cards from Meta land in our sweet country. The possible values of said cards are between €15 and €100like what is done elsewhere (App Store, Google Play, Steam, Xbox, PlayStation Store, eShop…).
The value can only be used for content (game, application or DLCs) and not for hardware. In other words, if you had considered being offered the Meta Quest 3 by asking your friends to multiply the gift cards, curb your ardor! Good news though, the gift card never expires. This one being sent by e-mail, you will have to be careful not to delete it inadvertently, especially if you are the type to hesitate for weeks, even months, to obtain a particular title.
Something else to know, which seems obvious to some, but not to others: if you buy a game on Meta Quest 2 or Oculus Quest, it will be compatible with future headsets. In other words, if you buy Hubris on your Quest 2you can play it on your next Meta Quest 3. However, on certain games and given the planned abandonment of theOculusQuestif you want to make the unlikely purchase of a game Meta Quest 2 to play on the Quest first of the name, incompatibilities could arise.
Adding digital gift cards is a nice idea, although it took a while to take hold. We would also have liked to be able to benefit from real (physical) gift cards sold in stores. Indeed, dematerialization reduces the field of possibilities, thus preventing us from asking people furthest from digital technology to offer us the coveted gift card.
