Grimlord is a Action RPG inspired by the Dark Souls series (the reference of the genre). This gaming category is underrepresented in virtual reality and It is therefore with some interest that we will monitor this titleespecially since it seems technically quite solid, for standalone use.
It’s in the studio Metalcat that we owe this title, released last year on PC in early access, and currently available on theAppLabthe waiting room for the autonomous games of Meta (before possible marketing). Be careful though: early access does not necessarily mean free (well yes, but you will get the idea); the game is offered for a whopping €29.99 (link with 25% discount).
Don’t worry, the standalone version will not be emptied of its substance since it is equivalent to its PC counterpart. The campaign mode will offer difficult enemies (the minimum for a Soul like), of loot (collect various objects/treasures…), combat with realistic physics, a skill tree as well as the possibility of making your own armor and weapons. The final version will bring a mode sandbox (sandbox) as well as three additional chapters. The team does not rule out the possibility of adding additional content for the New Game Plus.
Grimlord is available in early access on SteamVR and Meta Quest (-25%), with future ports planned on Pico, PSVR 2 and the enigmatic YVR. The FAQ Steam indicates that full release is planned for Q3 2024.
The latest mixed reality headset is available on the website Meta and on Amazon. The model with 128 GB of storage costs 549.99 euros while the one with 512 GBit is sold at 699.99 euros.
