Meta Quest Pro: the headset on the run and unveiled in an attractive unboxing video!

The Meta Quest Pro, scheduled for October 25, talk about him again. If you’ve never heard of this helmet, a reminder shot is in order (see article). Are you ready ? The helmet has just been unofficially unveiled by a certain Ramiro Cardenas.

The latter posted images in the group Facebook “Oculus Quest 2” which appears to show the packaging of the Meta Quest Pro bearing the mention NOT FOR RESALE – ENGINEERING SAMPLE. The latter claims that the boxes were left in the hotel in which he works. The cardboard resembles that of the Meta Quest 2 and, as was the case with this one, the storage size is shown at the top right – in this case, 256 GB.

Of course, the community initially did not believe that the images were real, the fault of the image qualitywith quite a lot of noise, which can easily hide photo retouching. Seriously unhappy at not being believed, Ramiro recorded himself unboxing the helmet and posted it on his page Facebook (see video above).

As we saw before, the headset appears to have five external cameras – three on the front and one on each side. And, it was to be expected, new controllers ditch tracking rings in favor of on-board cameras for independent tracking Inside/Out.

Note as a reminder that the thinner visor of the Meta Quest Pro is achieved through the use of lenses Pancakes, which support smaller screens with a tighter gap between panels and lenses. Last April, a prominent supply chain analyst claimed that the helmet would be equipped with two 2160×2160 Mini-LED LCD panelscompared to less than 1832×1920 pixels per eye for ordinary LCD screens of the Quest 2. Import logs suggest it would come with 12GB of RAMagainst 6 GB for the Quest 2.

tariff level, Meta revealed last May that the price would be “significantly” higher than 800 dollars. Mark Zuckerberg then told investors that the target market was remote workers. A leaked internal memo described him as being intended for “industrial-grade/semi-professional mixed reality” – although it can also run content Quest existing.

If you haven’t taken the plunge yet, you can treat yourself to a Oculus Quest 2 at the house of Bakerthe Fnac, Darty or Amazon for €349.99. You can also find good PCs for gamers there.
