The Meta Quest Pro has sensors and cameras that theoretically enable a type of control of the Vision Pro. You can try it out with a demo, although not without restrictions.
- A demo has been built on Github for you to try out the Vision Pro UI.
- For this you need the Meta Quest Pro.
- This is not a fully functional menu.
While so far only selected people have been able to take a look at the Apple Vision Pro, which will be released next year, you could already try out at least one of its control types in a demo. Provided, of course, that you have a Meta Quest Pro, which with an RRP of 1,799 euros costs a lot less than Apple’s entry into VR glasses. You can see what that looks like in the video below.
In the demo, you can use the cameras in the Meta Quest Pro to pinch and drag a menu that’s modeled on a home screen in Apple’s announcement video. You can view the project based on the Nova UI framework for Unity on Github or download the associated APK.
But keep in mind that the UI is not completely usable. According to upload no apps can be opened. Also, the Meta Quest Pro doesn’t have any cameras pointing down. That’s why you have to keep your hands in the air when navigating without a controller.
