According to information from Progrès, a cyclist was seriously injured on Sunday around 7 p.m., ascent of La Rochette, in Caluire, in circumstances that are not well known, in the absence of direct witnesses.
The alert was given by a local resident, alerted by the noise, and the emergency services took care of a 43-year-old man, in absolute urgency.
Without helmet
The cyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported to the Édouard Herriot hospital with a vital prognosis.
At first, the hypothesis of a fall, following a collision with a car, was mentioned, but the first findings did not confirm it.
Was the cyclist alone at fault?
No vehicle was on the spot and no material element, compatible with a shock, was found.
In the current state of the investigations, it appears that the cyclist was probably the victim of a fall, while descending this very steep street.
