The EST union (Ensemble, un Syndicat sur le Terrain) is organizing a rally in front of the Edouard-Herriot Hospital on May 31 at 2:30 p.m. to protest against their working conditions.
“Today, the hospital is no longer able to take care of patients who need care. Indeed, following reorganizations dating from 2010, the workforce has gradually decreased to become insufficient. Gradually, the ratios of caregivers collapsed to finally lead to the current disaster, ”says the union.
“We, caregivers at the Édouard Herriot hospital, like all the caregivers of the Hospices Civils de Lyon, and like all the caregivers in the country, can no longer hold on”, explains a “letter from the caregivers” sent by the EST union, which asks to “restore sufficient staff in the services”, “generalize the bonuses to all caregivers” and “return to the fundamentals of caregivers”.
