Michael Caine (90) is retiring from acting. The 90-year-old confirmed this on the BBC program “Today”. The two-time Oscar winner said: “I keep saying that I’m going to retire. Now the time has come.” The film star had previously hinted at his intention to retire, but has always backtracked. He also explained that he rejected his last film three times because he already felt like he was retired. But finally he said yes.

The British actor, who stars in The Great Escaper, added: “I thought, I’ve just starred in a film that’s getting great reviews. What can I do? do to surpass that?” Caine said he wanted to end his film career, which has spanned seven decades, on a positive note: “The only roles I’m likely to get now are 90-year-old men. Caine celebrated his breakthrough with the war film “Zulu” from 1964.
