Discover the first behind-the-scenes images of Michael, a biopic dedicated to Michael Jackson with Jaafar Jackson in the title role.

Here are the first images from the Michael Jackson biopic! While waiting for an official photo or a trailer, behind-the-scenes images were relayed by the Daily Mail. As announced at the start of the year, it is one of Michael Jackson’s nephews who will slip into the costume of the king of pop, in this film which will also tell the dark side of the singer.

Discover a few seconds behind the scenes of the filming with Jaafar Jackson:

On January 19, we learned that the director of Training Day and Equalizer, Antoine Fuqua, was going to direct a biopic on Michael Jackson, simply called Michael.

Aged 27, Jafaar Jackson is a singer and songwriter, and the son of Jermaine Jackson who was also a member of the Jackson 5. Jaafar has been singing and dancing since the age of 12, and became known for covering songs by Sam Cooke and Marvin Gaye before releasing his own titles.

The latter has never made a movie before but his way of moving and singing is close to that of his uncle.

Written by John Logan, who notably collaborated with Martin Scorsese (Aviator, Hugo Cabret) and Sam Mendes (Skyfall, 007 Spectre), the film will be produced by Graham King to whom we owe the successful biopic dedicated to Freddie Mercury, Bohemian Rhapsody.

The site Deadline reports that, unlike the film about the Queen frontman which glossed over darker parts of Mercury’s life, the Michael Jackson biopic would not avoid controversy.

The accusations of pedophilia which surrounded the last years of the singer’s life, until his death in 2009 at the age of 50, from a cardiac arrest caused by a cocktail of sedatives, should therefore be mentioned.

Please note that a documentary on Michael Jackson will be available from December 3 on Paramount+, to mark the 40th anniversary of the album’s release. Thriller.
